With Everything - Hillsong (Lyrics & Subtitles) (by HillsongOfficial)
“If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.”
- C.S. Lewis
“The tendency in today’s culture is to want to be a ‘star’, but I want to be a servant.”
Fire.
Needed.
To burn away the impure.
To burn away the surfaces.
Leaving the inside in its purest form. Like precious gold and silver.
This is how He wants to refine us in His flames.
He wants us pure. He wants us to hold our head up high in purity.
Let everything we think, say and do be holy and pleasing in His sight.
Our Walk To Remember: Refiner's Fire →
I have fallen into a sort of pattern that I would actually open my Bible once a day. Sometimes, it’s to read the scriptures that comes in the daily devotions I read (ODB, Right From The Heart, etc). Sometimes, like today, it was based on songs.
The verse of the song came into my head:
…
Refiner’s fire
“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness…” —Malachi 3:3-4
(Psalm 127 NIV)
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.
“I use to think that the friction was a bad thing. Everything is to ease pain in our society; pain is very much the enemy. And I don’t think that’s true. Tension is a good thing. To be pulled tight: that’s the only way you can make a proper noise on the guitar or violin.” - Jon Foreman of Switchfoot.
“There’re times we spend so much time and effort fighting the wrong kind of battles..But I’m learning that the fight is to surrender; to die to myself daily.”
